The Sonifex AVN-CU4 commentator desk is a fully customizable commentator desk using the analog connection sytem and Dante® AoIP. The unit provides four microphone or line inputs with a wide, adjustable gain range and four stereo headphone outputs with locking jacks, suitable for one, two, three or four commentators.

The device can handle virtually any commentator situation thanks to Dante connections and dual redundant networking. It has several AC / DC / PoE power options. Up to 48 rotary encoders can be used on inputs, outputs or crosspoints, allowing you to handle talkback channels, commentary and audio mixing in one unit.

The device has been designed from the ground up to be configurable in a variety of situations with configuration files that can be saved and recalled for quick setup. In addition, buttons and rotary encoders can be locked if the device is operated by less technical commentators.

There are plenty of 4-wire connections on the rear panel: 4 x analog line inputs on XLR jacks with latch locks, 6 x analog line outputs on XLR plugs, and RJ45 AES3 stereo input and output. These connections can act as simultaneous analog backup for Dante AoIP connections.

An illuminated "Sonifex" logo acts as a power indicator, and backlit LEDs indicate network clock status, AoIP Primary and AoIP Secondary link status, PoE Primary, PoE Secondary and active AC power. The front panel features 4 microphone/line inputs with +48V phantom power indicator and 4 headphone outputs on lockable 6.35mm jack sockets. The unit has dual redundant network ports on RJ45 (PoE+ using 2 Neutrik EtherCON® connectors) and SFP connectors. For powering the device, in addition to dual PoE ports and a 12V XLR DC 4-pin input, there is an AC network input on an IEC jack with a universal power supply.
