Rode Blimp + NTG3/NTG2/NT55 Microphone
The RØDE Blimp is a complete wind and shock protection solution for NTG1, NTG2, NTG3, NTG4 and NTG4+ microphones, as well as third-party shotgun microphones up to 325 mm in length. Now equipped with the Rycote® Lyre suspension system, the Blimp provides the ultimate in microphone suspension and isolation. Made from a single piece of durable thermoplastic, Lyre provides superior acoustic suspension compared to traditional flexible solutions and never wears out, bends or snaps. The Blimp's handle has also been completely redesigned, significantly reducing the product's weight and increasing the ergonomics of handheld operation. Inside the handle is a heavy-duty Mogami cable that splits through the junction box into a highly flexible, thin cable to minimize the transmission of vibrations to the microphone. Thanks to the lightweight design of the mount and suspension, the new Blimp is more than 25% lighter (550gm without the microphone and without DeadWombat). The Blimp mounts to any standard boompole using a 3/8″ threaded mount at the base. A universal Blimp Mount is available as an option to remove the mount when the Blimp is used primarily on a boompole to reduce weight. Dead Wombat wind protection, a care brush and a tail/slide cable are included.
