What is Starlink?

Starlink is a satellite internet being built by the American company SpaceX, which belongs to Elon Musk. The system is ultimately to consist of approximately 12,000 satellites placed in so-called low Earth orbit at three altitudes - 340 km, 550 km and 1150 km above the Earth.

How does Starlink work?

The satellite internet service works by connecting users to satellites using a dish antenna. These dish antennas are connected to the user's Starlink router and modem, which in turn are connected to the Internet. The satellites then transmit data to and from the user's router and modem, providing Internet access.
