The BarnColor 4x12G SDI is a fiber-optic converter designed as a cost-effective solution for transmitting and receiving multiple video signals in both directions over a single fiber-optic cable. It is simple to use and easy to set up—no complications, and no technical knowledge or experience is required. The device allows you to transmit up to 8 4K UHD/12G-quality signals over long distances using a single fiber-optic cable: it transmits 4 video signals in one direction and simultaneously receives 4 signals. What is the BarnColor 4x12G SDI used for?
An example of its use is sending four video signals from a broadcast van to the set and simultaneously receiving four signals from the set—all over a single fiber-optic cable. This is an ideal solution for multi-camera productions, where multiple video feeds need to be transmitted over long distances without loss of quality or delay. Instead of running multiple thick SDI coaxial cables, you use a single lightweight fiber-optic cable.
What's included in the set?
The BarnColor 4x12G consists of two transceiver modules. Each module has 4 UHD/12G SDI inputs and 4 UHD/12G SDI outputs. The kit requires no configuration—simply connect the modules with a fiber-optic cable and plug in the power supply. To set it up, you’ll need an opticalCON DUO fiber-optic cable or a standard fiber-optic cable terminated on each end with two LC connectors, as well as a power supply. That’s all.
Expanding and Combining Modules

- You can connect multiple BarnColor modules (provided they are different colors)—expandable to 32 connections (16 in each direction) using a single fiber-optic cable.
- Our module is purple—you can pair it with BarnColor 12G modules in other colors.

No—it's plug-and-play. No technical knowledge or experience is required. You simply connect the two modules with a fiber-optic cable, plug in the power, and connect the SDI signals. No configuration, no complications. That's one of BarnColor's main advantages—it works right out of the box.

We can provide the appropriate fiber-optic cable in the length of your choice (optional, subject to agreement)—just let us know the distance you need to cover.
No—the BarnColor 4x12G SDI does not introduce any delay (zero latency). The signal is transmitted in real time, which is crucial for live productions, where even a millisecond of delay between cameras could cause synchronization issues. It provides clean, transparent signal transport.

We have a tiered pricing structure: 1 day = 700 PLN, 2 days = 1,200 PLN (effectively 600 PLN per night), 3 days = 1,600 PLN (effectively ~533 PLN per night). The longer the rental period, the lower the daily rate. For longer-term projects, please contact us for a custom quote. Delivery within Warsaw is FREE; outside Warsaw, delivery is subject to agreement.
