The flexible new Shogun Studio 2 rental utilizes the latest Atomos multi-channel recording technology and combines it with two high-quality, high-brightness 7-inch HDR 3000nit displays, all in a single 3RU device. Its unique combination of features makes it ideal for live events, broadcast vans, production galleries and MCRs, post-production facilities, video wall playback, on-set DIT, and sports events. Connect to virtually any SDI or HDMI source.

Record multiple formats – Shogun Studio 2

Shogun Studio 2 records two channels of 4Kp60 or up to eight HDp60 sources in standard Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW, and AVID DNx codecs. Free your workflow from the limitations of highly compressed GOP-based codecs and their associated artifacts. Replace them with clean images captured directly from camera channel sensors using modern intraframe codecs.

Play and edit – Shogun Studio 2

Browse or play back your recordings directly on the Shogun Studio 2 using innovative on-screen touch controls. Play video in resolutions up to 4Kp60 or high frame rate 4K/12G recordings on the device itself. Playlists can be created from clips recorded on the Atomos recorder or from your editing system in a supported codec, resolution, and frame rate.

Advanced recording modes – Shogun Studio 2

Shogun Studio 2 offers Pre Roll recording with 8 seconds of cache in HD or 2-3 seconds in 4K to ensure you never miss the action. It also offers multi-camera ISO recording and switching of up to 8 SDI inputs from cameras up to 1080p60. Each bank of 4 inputs also uses a switchable output, allowing for two switched videos.

The ProRes RAW Advantage – Shogun Studio 2

Creators have full control over their video images in post-production because ProRes RAW combines the flexibility of RAW video with the real-time performance of ProRes. This format gives filmmakers incredible freedom to adjust the look of their images and increase brightness and detail in shadows – making ProRes RAW the perfect solution for HDR workflows.

Managed color pipeline – Shogun Studio 2

Shogun Studio 2 manages your color in every respect. It supports input from major camera vendors, converting it to Rec.709 and giving users the option to load their own 3D LUTs for instant preview and transform. It also works with HDR.
