Foundation for Polish Science

The HD online broadcast of the INTER popularization competition final, organized by the Foundation for Polish Science as part of the SKILLS project, took place in the Zamoyski Palace at ul. Foksal 1/2/4 in Warsaw. This year, 13 finalists competed not only for the title of the best popularizers, but also for PLN 100,000 for the implementation of a research project.

During the final gala of the INTER 2013 popular science competition, each of the thirteen young scientists had five minutes to present their interdisciplinary project. Their presentations were judged by the Competition Committee, which included prominent scientists and well-known science popularizers in Poland: Prof. Maciej Żylicz, President of the FNP (Chairman of the Committee), Dr. Ilona Iłowiecka – Taфska, Dr. Patrycja Dołowy, Dr. hab. Marcin Grynberg, Dr. Paweł Rutkowski (winner of the INTER 2012 competition and winner of the public vote) and editor Krzysztof Michalski. We carried out HD online broadcasts. 

HD online broadcast production

During this production, we used 4 full HD cameras from Sony's XDCAM class. The cameras were connected to a digital ATEM1 mixer. The image was mixed live from 4 cameras, and additionally, presentations of the participants were embedded in the online broadcast HD, we generated an individual animation and subtitles for each of the participants, which appeared during the online broadcast. The material was recorded on site by a Blackmagic recorder in the 4:2:2 color palette.

HD online broadcast prices

Prices for this type of project depend on the number of cameras used for internet broadcasts, the number of people - broadcast producers, the number of recipients, and any optional elements (number of audio tracks for translations, the ability to scale the quality of the broadcast, etc.).
