The challenge

A medical conference broadcast live from a studio

The Warsaw Gastroenterology Meetings are a scientific conference with speakers on-site and guests joining remotely. A conference like this has to be shown the television way: from several cameras, with legible presentations and speaker name captions, and smooth switching between the discussion panel and the lecture slides.

The challenge was to build a professional multimedia studio and bring all the signals together — cameras, presentations and remote connections — into a single, coherent broadcast for the online audience.

  • Speakers on-site and guests joining remotely
  • Presentations and lectures integrated into the picture
  • Multi-camera production of the discussion panel
  • A television-grade broadcast for the medical community

How we did it

A multimedia studio, an OB van and delivery on our own platform

We produced the broadcast from a multimedia studio built at the National Institute of Oncology, supported by our OB van. We captured the picture with multiple Panasonic AK-HC3900 cameras with Panasonic AK-HRP250 CCU controls, so every camera held a consistent, television-grade image.

Audio was run on a Yamaha QL5 console with a Tio stagebox, while crew communication was handled by an RTS OMNEO intercom. The graphics — speaker captions, boards and lecture titles — were produced in the CasparCG system. Everything was delivered on our own streaming platform.

The result

A gastroenterology conference in television quality

Participants got a professional, multi-camera medical conference broadcast — with legible presentations, on-screen graphics and smooth switching between the panel and the lectures. The Warsaw Gastroenterology Meetings were broadcast live like a television programme — with the picture and sound quality the medical community expects.

It is a good example that broadcasting a scientific conference is not "a camera at the back of the room" — it is a studio production: multiple cameras, integrated presentations, on-screen graphics and reliable delivery on a streaming platform.

  • Multi-camera broadcast at television quality
  • Presentations and graphics integrated into the picture
  • Delivery on our own streaming platform

A multimedia studio, an OB van, Panasonic cameras with CCU controls, Yamaha audio and CasparCG graphics — a complete, television-grade broadcast of the Warsaw Gastroenterology Meetings.

FAQ

Medical conference broadcasting — common questions

How much does a live medical conference broadcast cost?

The price depends on the scale: the number of cameras, building the studio, the number of conference days, the graphics, handling remote speakers and the delivery platform. A small webinar is priced differently from a multi-camera conference produced from a studio. Describe your format — we prepare a quote within one business day.

Do you build a multimedia studio for a conference?

Yes. For the Warsaw Gastroenterology Meetings we built a multimedia studio at the National Institute of Oncology and supported it with an OB van. A studio lets us broadcast the conference the television way — with a discussion panel, presentations and on-screen graphics.

Do you handle speakers joining remotely?

Yes. We connect remote speakers and bring their signal into the broadcast on an equal footing with the guests present in the studio, so that a lecture or a contribution to the discussion looks consistent with the rest of the production.

Do you display presentations and speaker captions?

Yes. Presentations, boards and speaker captions are prepared in the CasparCG graphics system and integrated with the camera picture — so the online viewer sees both the speaker and a legible lecture slide.

Which platform can the conference broadcast be watched on?

We can deliver the broadcast on our own streaming platform, on YouTube or on a closed platform for registered participants — depending on whether the conference is meant to be open or available only to the medical community.

Do you produce broadcasts from an OB van (OBVAN)?

Yes. Our production OB van is a mobile production hub with a mixer, camera channels and a full crew — it works perfectly for conferences broadcast both from a studio and from the venue.

Planning a medical or scientific conference broadcast?

We can take on the entire production — the multimedia studio, OB van, cameras, audio, graphics and delivery — or just the part you need. Tell us what you are organising and we will prepare a quote within one day.
